This week marked exactly 3 years since Clyde Property Perth branch recorded their first ever sale, a one bedroom flat on Atholl Street in Perth. Since then, the team have recorded over 600 sales and counting. To highlight what this sale meant for the branch and for their client, Stephen Stewart, we caught up with him and our Area Director Gary Robertson.
Gary Robertson remembers about his first sale for Clyde Property Perth: “Stephen’s property had been on the market with another agent for around 6 months before he gave me a call. We arranged to meet at the flat and I gave my open and honest opinion on how I thought we could help and what was required to get the best price and sell it for him.”
Stephen Stewart, Clyde Property Perth first client, also recollects: “Gary advised that he felt that the current marketing materials didn’t really showcase the property at its best and that potential viewers were not quite seeing all the features and benefits that they should be. As a result, they maybe weren’t being impressed enough to come and see it.”
Gary continues: “I also spoke to Stephen about the asking price. I felt that the current agent had pitched it too high as an asking price. I did agree with the home report value, it was probably about right, but the asking price was set too high and I believed may have been deterring some viewers.”
The team at Clyde Property Perth created a brand new, more extensive set of particulars for the property and coupled it with a new, more attractive asking price to try and generate fresh interest.
And the result?
Stephen comments about what happened next:
“After a high number of viewings I was absolutely delighted that the property went to a closing date after just two weeks and sold for in excess of the asking price.”
“I was always confident we would get the result for Stephen. It was a good property but hadn’t been showcased effectively enough or priced correctly to get people through the door. The team worked their magic with the viewers and I was delighted for Stephen when he got such a good offer at the closing date.” – says Gary.
The successful sale allowed Stephen and his partner to fully push ahead with their plans to begin a new chapter in their lives within the quaint village of Caol close to Fort William where they still live today. It also allowed him to help finance training and progress his career as an ROV pilot/technician.
Stephen’s last comment warmed our hearts: “Gary and his team were helpful, professional and completed the process with the minimum of fuss. I think it’s fair to say that in selling the flat, Clyde really did help me move on with my long terms plans for which I’m very grateful for and I am very much enjoying life over on the West Coast thanks to them.”
