According to a recent survey carried out by the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), a whopping 79% of UK estate agents consider the current home-buying process in the UK to be outdated. We couldn’t agree more, we’re just a bit surprised that this figure isn’t higher—nay unanimous! We’ve long since believed this to be the case and have already made a number of improvements to bring our estate agency services and methods up to date with the needs and demands of today’s home buyers and sellers.
This analysis by NAEA was conducted shortly before the government’s recent announcement calling for evidence on the ways in which the home-buying process could be made “cheaper, faster and less stressful for those involved.” As Mark Hayward, chief executive of NAEA Propertymark, explains: “The government’s announcement … couldn’t come soon enough, and we welcome it. Our findings show that estate agents agree, and would welcome changes to ensure the process of buying and selling is brought into the twenty-first century.”
The future of home buying at Clyde Property
Last year, a report by The Future Laboratory suggested that the home-buying experience would be almost unrecognisable by 2025. High tech advances such as virtual reality and drone footage will be used to view properties, and we will be taking full advantage of ‘big data’ marketing to target potential buyers.
At Clyde Property, the future of home buying is already here. Whilst continuing to use efficient traditional estate agency methods—like ‘For Sale’ boards and adverts in our branch windows—we utilise big data, augmented reality and virtual reality technologies, and drone footage to market and sell homes.
With our finger firmly on the pulse at all times, we endeavour to remain at the forefront, responding to technological changes available to the industry—even when no one else is. The Scottish property market is in a strong position, and it’s time that all estate agents did their part to ensure its continued growth.
Harnessing the Opportunity of Digital Marketing
The use of digital when marketing properties for sale is an important trend that will impact the future of estate agency services, and we’re already on board. Using search engine optimisation, online advertising, and bespoke social media campaigns, online tools enable us to use advanced digital targeting to reach the relevant audience as soon as possible. Essentially, we can match homes for sale with the most appropriate potential buyers—an invaluable digital marketing tool for all estate agents.
Adding HD Video Tours to Each Property We Sell
We use augmented reality and virtual reality technologies to create HD video presentations and tours of properties for sale. They are ideal for estate agents because they provide ‘real-life’ experiences to potential buyers, allowing them to fully appreciate properties online, accessing them at any time from anywhere. An efficient technology that maximises time and resources, streamlining the entire home buying process.
Enhance Buyers’ Experience with Drone Footage
At Clyde Property, we started offering professional HD video and drone footage to home sellers over three years ago—and the response we’ve received from clients has been fantastic. Drones enable us to showcase properties from angles and heights that conventional cameras simply cannot achieve. Our professionally edited HD drone footage enhances the experience of both the home buyer and home seller. It allows viewers to gain a more accurate view of the whole property and, as a result, we generate more interest, sell properties in a shorter period of time, and ensure every seller gets the best price for their home.
