Edinburgh is a wonderful place to be if your hobbies include eating fine food and drinking exceptional wine. There’s nowhere better to be than in one of Edinburgh’s Michelin starred restaurants. For a small city to have several acclaimed eateries is some achievement! Two of the restaurants are located in Leith, which has become a real hotspot for foodies.
Take a look at Edinburgh’s Michelin Starred restaurants below, and remember to book well in advance. It’s also worth noting that the lunchtime menu is often exceptional value – although you might want to skip breakfast!
Owned and run by Tom Kitchen, a familiar face on Masterchef, The Kitchin has been established for over 12 years and has enjoyed Michelin status for 11 of those. Although the name Tom Kitchin is often the draw for many diners, the exceptional food is what keeps diners coming back. The menu is unfussy and there are no clever or unusual ingredients, just good honest fare. The restaurant has an extensive wine cellar so wine pairing is a must.
