First appearing in The Sunday Post in 1936, Oor Wullie has become a part of Scottish pop culture history. Co-created by Thomson editor R. D. Low and cartoonist Dudley D. Watkins, each strip often featured Wullie and his friends inventing unrealistic get-rich-quick schemes which end in disaster.
